Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Fars Province announced the start of the restoration and retrofitting project of Saadi Tomb.
Seyyed Moayed Mohsennejad told reporters on Saturday 18th of Shahrivar: With the aim of preserving the bequest of the valuable building of Saadi Shirazi tomb, the restoration and retrofitting of this landmark building has begun with the use of the experienced and expert restoration team of Fars province.
Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Fars added: In this project, with scientific and expert review and the preparation of a restoration plan and review in the Technical Council of the General Administration and with the use of experts’ opinions, the strength problems of this historical building have been assessed and after allocating the necessary credits. The restoration operation of the tomb has begun.

Mohsennejad added: The credit allocated to this project is more than 11 billion Rials, and during this operation, repairs, restoration and retrofitting of the main body and internal and external stone facades around the tomb are on the agenda.
The building of Saadi Tomb has suffered subsidence in different parts and the complexity of the implementation of windows, the stones are cracked and the columns are damaged, and it needs restoration for a long time.
