Vakil Bazaar of Shiraz is one of the most important works left from the era of Karim Khan Zand. This market was built by order of Shah Zand between 1137 and 1156 solar years. The design of this bazaar is modeled after the Qaisarieh bazaar of Isfahan and is related to the Safavid period, and the traces of the architecture of this period can be clearly seen in it.
Vakil Bazaar of Shiraz was the economic heart of Shiraz during the time of Zandiyeh, and all business activities, including buying and selling of foreign and domestic goods, barter exchanges, and exchanges were all done in the cells of this market. During the Qajar era, a separate bazaar called Sarai Moshir was added to the southern part of Vakil Bazaar. Bazaar Vakil Shiraz was registered as one of the national monuments of Iran on July 17, 1351.
